WEEK 1, 2 & 3

Brainstorming and Pitch

WEEK 4 

Design, 3D modelling for the squirrel the dog catcher and the bones, creating a points system, animating the platform characters

WEEK 5

Started learning Unity, finished the walk/jump cycles for the dog, finished the walk/jump cycles for the squirrel, finished the walk cycles for the old man, have all the menu pages completed and unity ready, created accessories for players to buy, created longer backgrounds for the platform mode, added lights to the maze so that it’s not pitch black, and created an overlay for the game

WEEK 6

Continuing to learn Unity, Began to learn Construct 2, Built sprite sheets for every animation, redid platform mode in Construct 2 (crashed and save files were lost), animated all characters for platform mode, fixed and improved model for the Dog Catcher, evaluated Autodesk Stingray(a new game editor), discovered Mixamo Autorigger and animations

WEEK 7 

PLATFORM MODE:

Created a timer, created points system,

 updated the sprite sheets for smoother anim, attempted to fix the squirrel, added idle anim, made another level with a different background

 

MAZE:

Created a dog model, rigging the dog and man, attempted to make a skybox.

 

-started making a website : )

WEEK 8

PLATFORM MODE:

Added sound, created a working main menu, updated the backgrounds, updated the jump sprites, fixed bugs for smoother animation, made animations for the dog catcher to jump and catch the dog, started dog catcher mode

 

MAZE:

Two new, easier levels, walk and idle animations for dog catcher

 

 

Also we made (this) website!

WEEK 9

-redesigned all menus... twice

-Improved help screen and store screen functionality + design

 

PLATFORM MODE:

-Added touch input (but haven’t tested)

-Made dog catcher platform

-OFFICIALLY FIGURED OUT HOW TO MAKE AI JUMP

 

MAZE:

-Homeless man run cycle

-Improved homeless man walk cycle

-Created working HUD

-Created new decorations for the maze

WEEK 10

PLATFORM MODE:

-combined all the layouts

-worked on store menu

-updated all the sprites so they stand out more against the background

-updated you won page

 

 

MAZE:

-added animations to unity

-coding dog catcher to patrol and chase

-coding Golden Bone to wander erratically around the maze

WEEK 11

PLATFORM MODE:

-made progress on getting a working scroll bar (it vaguely moves.)

-added a speed boost, messed with speeds/timing, made the layout larger

-designed country level bg

-finalized sounds

-finalized sprites

 

 

MAZE:

-found a plugin to make coding AI easier

WEEK 12

PLATFORM MODE:

-made progress on getting a working store page

    -added all the code to select objects (but it’s not functional yet)

    -experimented with a couple different options for the scroll bar. It’s

almost working.

-spent over an hour on the back button. Am very confused why it won’t work.

 

-added a speed boost, messed with speeds/timing, made the layout larger

-designed country level bg

-finalized sounds

-finalized sprites

 

 

MAZE:

-found a plugin to make coding AI easier

WEEK 13

-renovated menus

-made more objects to collide with

-polishing platformer

MAZE:

 

-working AI! It patrols a set path, will chase if it spots the player, and will go back to patrolling if it loses sight of the player. Animation transitions also work too.
